    Chocolate Swirl Marshmallows

I turned the heating on this morning. That’s the real official sign that Autumn has begun, and i’m so excited. Having said that, i’ve got one last summer recipe to share with you. – These chocolate swirl marshmallows would’ve been perfect for those long, warm summer nights, but i guess they’ll be just as delicious whilst i’m covered in blankets.

also (!) making these marshmallows in Autumn has one BIG advantage to make them in summer… the chocolate doesn’t melt that fast.

How to make chocolate swirl marshmallows?

    YOU’LL NEED:
3 pastel colored swirl marshmallows (per skewer)
    2 milk chocolate bars
    Confetti sprinkles
    Skewers

    METHOD:
    1.
Start by melting the milk chocolate. (there are multiple ways to do that, but au-bain-marie is the easiest. – just grab a pan and a glass bowl that can sit on top of the pan. Fill the bottom of the pan with water and wait till the water boils. Put the bowl on top of the pan and add small pieces of chocolate. Keep stirring the chocolate until all is melted.)
    2.
Thread your marshmallows in a zigzag pattern to the skewers.
    3.
Use a spoon (or if you’ve got one, a piping bag) to spread the melted chocolate, in swirling motions, over the marshmallows.
    4.
The chocolate will harden quite quickly, so you’ll need to add the sprinkles as soon as you can.

    You’ve got options!

    CAN’T DO MILK CHOCOLATE SWIRLS?
    White chocolate
    Vanilla icing
    Pure chocolate
    Strawberries frosting
    Melted caramel

    CAN’T DO SPRINKLES?
    Chopped hazelnuts
    Coconut flakes
    Mocha beans
    Crystal sugar

ps. wanna crank it up a notch? add sprinkles AND hazelnuts AND coconut flakes.

i have a funny relationship with marshmallows. As a kid I never ate them much, it wasn’t as if i didn’t like them, it was just ‘meh.‘ And there were so many other types of candies too.

in my old age however, i’ve learned that I do no longer like all the sweets I so loved as a kid. (they are just TOO sour. or TOO sweet) but i def like marshmallows more today than i ever did when i was, like, a toddler.

    do YOU love marshmallows?
and what sweets did you love as a kid, but don’t anymore?
